The failure of Congress to deal with Federal Aviation Authority funding before going into recess showed the callous disregard of these elected officials for the American people (“FAA partial shutdown continues,” Web, Wednesday).

These rascals disputed a few million dollars for rural airport subsidies and by their failure to act on FAA funding before taking off for a month, nearly ended up costing the government many times the disputed amount in lost tax revenues and many thousands of ordinary Americans their paychecks. Although a deal has since been reached to end the shutdown, not a single member of Congress who behaved this way ever deserves to be re-elected. I, for one, will not vote for any incumbent member of this Congress.
