TAMPA, FLA. (AP) - Alex Rodriguez has resumed taking batting practice.
The Yankees third baseman hit several home runs among 43 swings Saturday during his first BP session since having right knee surgery on July 14. A-Rod also took about 30 swings off the tee and 66 swings from soft toss on the main field at the team’s minor league complex in Tampa.
Rodriguez called Saturday’s session “another good day.”
Rodriguez again took grounders and increased his running program during the 70-minute onfield workout.
Rodriguez signed autographs for about 60 fans who were waiting outside the facility before he left.
The Yankees expect Rodriguez to rejoin the team in mid-August.
