OPINION:
I overheard someone the other day say that he had finally seen a movie that had “gotten it right.” It was the new movie, “Captain America,” which is about a skinny, young guy from Brooklyn, N.Y., who becomes a super hero. I saw a different movie the other day that I thought had gotten it right, too.
It was the new film “The Undefeated,” which is a documentary about Sarah Palin. Both heroes in these movies found ways to help by doing the right thing. Mrs. Palin very effectively used government, as a mayor and a governor, to create prosperity and jobs where she lived in Alaska. The documentary details how she achieved this when she took on and took down the Republican establishment in the state, forced an oil company to fulfill its contract obligations, lowered taxes and realized the need for and successfully bid out the construction of a natural-gas pipeline between Alaska and the lower states.
The common-sense, real-person intelligence of Sarah Palin so deeply threatened the political left in the United States that they followed her to Alaska with the single object of destroying her character. They didn’t succeed.
