Female bus driver accuses ’Lost’s’ Fox in attack

“Lost” star Matthew Fox has been accused of assaulting a female bus driver in Cleveland.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Heather Bormann, a mother of three, was punched by Mr. Fox after she refused to allow him onto a private bus party. Miss Bormann, who said she did not recognize the celebrity when he tried to board the bus, claims he started “swinging on her” and reeked of booze.

“He smelled like a liquor cabinet, like a bar,” Miss Bormann explained to the newspaper. “I told him, ’Sorry, buddy, this is a private party. You have to get off my vehicle.’ I told him three times. He never said a word. He just looked at me.”

Miss Bormann, who said she has bruises all over her body, said she assumed Mr. Fox would stop attacking her, so when he didn’t, she hit him. After a blow to the mouth, Mr. Fox reportedly fell into a fence but got up to fight Miss Bormann again. Miss Bormann went to a hospital for her wounds, but Mr. Fox reportedly did not receive medical attention.

According to the newspaper, Mr. Fox was detained, released and taken back to his hotel in a taxi.

A bus driver for five years, Miss Bormann said she intends to press charges against the Hollywood star.

“By the time I got home, it was all tears,” Miss Bormann said.

Snooki sends birthday love to mark Sen. McCain’s day

For the umpteenth time, “Jersey Shore” cast member Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has sent her love to Arizona Sen. John McCain, who celebrated his birthday Monday.

The 23-year-old pint-sized Easterner, who said she voted for Mr. McCain in the 2008 presidential election, wished the politician a great 75th.

“Happy 75th Birthday Bro, You’re Still A QT To Me,” Snooki said, according to Politico.

This is just the latest of the many fond exchanges between the reality star and the Republican senator. In July 2010, Mr. McCain’s daughter, Meghan, interviewed Snooki for a Daily Beast piece, and the Jersey girl spoke fondly of “cute” Mr. McCain.

“So when I saw it was Obama and McCain, to be honest with you, the only reason why I voted for your father was because he was really cute and I liked when he did his speeches,” Snooki told Miss McCain, who laughed, but said this was “a little weird.”

Earlier this year, Mr. McCain joked to reporters that he garnered more press and attention for his highly publicized 2010 anti-tan-taxing tweets with Snooki than for any of his foreign policy or national security statements.

Famous for her tanning dependency, Snooki tweeted about her and Mr. McCain’s mutual opposition to a tanning tax.

“I don’t go tanning-tanning anymore because Obama put a 10 percent tax on tanning,” Snooki said. “I feel like he did that intentionally for us. McCain would never put a 10 percent tax on tanning. Because he’s pale and he would probably want to be tan.”

Mr. McCain confirmed Snooki’s suspicions with his response tweet: “@Sn00ki u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama’s tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!”

Daryl Hannah pays fine for part in D.C. protest

“Kill Bill” actress and environmental activist Daryl Hannah paid a fine and was released Tuesday after being arrested with 100 protesters during a demonstration outside the White House.

Tuesday’s protest was aimed at pushing President Obama to reject the Keystone pipeline project that would increase oil importation from Alberta, Canada. The oil is located in an unconventional petroleum deposit in an area of “oil sands,” otherwise called “tar sands.”

“Tar sands are the worst environmental atrocity,” Miss Hannah told People magazine after her release. “This pipeline would extend over the nation’s largest freshwater aquifers that 20 million people depend on for water.”

Miss Hannah went on to say that being arrested is not ideal, but sometimes it’s part of the protest experience.

“I do believe we are in a time of crisis for so many things,” she said. “And in times of crisis, you have to get engaged in the process. You have to walk your talk. Being arrested is something you never hope for. You don’t want to get arrested. But you know it’s a risk you take.”

She added that most of the people arrested Tuesday were regular citizens.

“The majority of people who got arrested with me were moms, grandmothers and school teachers,” Miss Hannah continued. “Like me, they are standing up against this big corporation and saying, ’No.’ “

The 50-year-old Hollywood icon also was arrested in 2009 for protesting against the removal of a West Virginia mountaintop, and in 2006 for confronting authorities attempting to demolish a Southern California farm.
