Metro Transit Police on Wednesday arrested four people for swindling $25,000 from the transit system.

Two of the individuals, Empriss Jacobs, 28, and Keesha Richardson, 32, are current employees. Lakisha Gardin, 34, is a former employee, along with 50-year-old Alfred Atanga, who is a former supervisor.

The four were charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft. Authorities said Mr. Atanga paid the women for time they were not on the clock, and the three workers accepted the money.

The Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office issued the indictments.

Ms. Jacobs and Ms. Richardson are on administrative leave pending further investigation.
