SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Former Miami coach Larry Coker says he’s not letting an NCAA investigation into his old program distract him from getting Texas-San Antonio ready for its college football debut.

UTSA plays its first game Saturday in the Alamodome. The Roadrunners are the fifth new Division I football startup in the last three years, and will already start transitioning to bowl subdivision next season.

Coker was hired by UTSA in 2009 to get the football program up and running. He has denied any knowledge of recent allegations by a Hurricanes booster, who says he treated dozens of Miami athletes to improper benefits from 2002 to 2010.

Coker led Miami to the BCS title in 2001 but was fired in 2006. He says NCAA investigators have not contacted him.
