BALTIMORE — Rex Grossman will start at quarterback for the Washington Redskins in their preseason game Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens.

Redskins general manager Bruce Allen revealed the plan during an interview on ESPN980-AM, the team’s flagship station. ESPN980 has a business agreement with The Washington Times.

Grossman will play a couple of series before yielding to John Beck. The two quarterbacks will rotate throughout the game, Allen indicated.

Grossman was 19-of-26 passing for 207 yards and a touchdown in a half with the first-string offense on Aug. 12 against Pittsburgh.

Beck was 14 of 17 for 140 yards in a half with the first-string offense against Indianapolis last week.

Allen said the coaching staff currently does not have sufficient evidence to determine whether Grossman or Beck will start in Week 1 against the New York Giants.
