THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS (AP) - A Dutch judge has issued an injunction banning the sale of some models of Samsung Galaxy smartphones from October, ruling they breach a patent owned by Apple Inc.
However, a lawyer for Samsung says the ruling is unlikely to affect sales as the South Korean tech giant will be able to modify the software before the injunction comes into effect.
Wednesday’s ruling was the latest by a national court in a long-running, worldwide patent dispute between iPhone and iPad maker Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co.
The Hague judge rejected other Apple complaints that Samsung breached patents and copied Apple products.
An Apple spokesman in the Netherlands did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
