ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. (AP) - Rain delay in the dome.

The game between the Detroit Tigers and Tampa Bay Rays has started after a 20-minute delay because of a weather-related problem with the lights at Tropicana Field.

The stadium lights for the domed playing field went out about 15 minutes before the scheduled 7:10 p.m. first pitch Tuesday night. The Rays say thunderstorms in the area affected a power line running into the ballpark, which caused the problem.

At about 7:10 p.m., the lights began to come back on. But it took about 15 minutes for the field to become fully lit again.

A game on July 18 at Tropicana Field between Tampa Bay and the New York Yankees had an 18-minute delay in the fifth inning when a cluster of lights along the first base line went dark after a lightning strike.
