ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. (AP) - Detroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez has been scratched from the starting lineup against Tampa Bay due to lower back spasms.
The move was announced just before the start of Monday night’s game.
Martinez has been limited recently to DH duty because of a sore knee. He is hitting .324 with eight homers and 70 RBIs in 110 games this season.
