MASON, OHIO (AP) - Roger Federer follows the U.S. presidential politics while he’s in the country playing tennis. He says he’s amazed that whoever wins the election isn’t worn out when they take office.

The 30-year-old Swiss tennis star says he closely followed the presidential election that Barack Obama won three years ago. Federer couldn’t believe how long the campaign lasted and the “brutality” of it at times.

Federer thinks that every U.S. president ought to be “extremely tired” when they take the oath of office.

Federer beat American James Blake on Thursday night, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Western & Southern Open near Cincinnati.
