OPINION:
Why are you campaigning, President Obama? No one is running against you. Oh, I’m sorry. This isn’t you stumping, it’s official business (“Obama follies bus tour,” Commentary, Tuesday).
You are trying to explain how you had nothing to do with the debacle about the debt. There is a saying that goes like this: “Don’t talk about what you are going to do, just do it and let it speak for itself.” Mr. Obama, why do you need to travel, spending taxpayer money, in order to explain your actions (or lack thereof)?
Every time you step in front of a crowd, you make the news instantly and all it costs you is the salary we already pay you to do your job. If you have to spin your actions in person, that speaks very loudly about what you’re doing.
Send your re-election money to the national debt instead of spending our tax dollars to fund your plausible deniability trips.
