EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - New York Giants linebacker Michael Boley and defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul have some issues with their backs.
Boley missed practice Tuesday with an undisclosed back problem, while Pierre-Paul had his back tighten up during practice. He had an ice pack applied and did not participate for roughly the final 30 minutes.
Boley had an interception return for a touchdown in the Giants’ 20-10 loss to Carolina in their season opener. Pierre-Paul had two sacks.
Receiver-return specialist Darius Reynaud pulled his right hamstring in the workout, as well.
Also missing practice Tuesday were linebacker Clint Sintim (knee), quarterback Sage Rosenfels (strep throat), placekicker Lawrence Tynes (thigh), and defensive backs Jarrard Tarrant (shoulder) and Woodny Turenne (calf).
Wide receiver Domenik Hixon, who had major knee surgery last year, was given the day off to rest his knee.
The Giants also made some moves on Tuesday. They signed safety Derrick Martin, who played five games last season for the Super Bowl-champion Green Bay Packers, and re-signed veteran safety Deon Grant.
To make room on the roster, New York waived safety Cary Harris and waived wide receiver Sam Giguere, who has been bothered by a groin injury.
