WASHINGTON (AP) — D.C. police say 74 people were arrested in a 12-hour operation that targeted prostitution downtown.

Operation Off the Streets, which targeted men and women engaged in prostitution on the streets, in hotels and on the Internet, wrapped up at 6 a.m. Saturday.

Police say they had help from people who provided information that led to many of the arrests and hotel chains that provided tools and settings to carry out the operation.
