Maryland State Police say a man was found dead Wednesday morning in a truck on the shoulder of the Capital Beltway near Interstate 95.

Police said that shortly before 9 a.m. they received a call from a motorist who reported that a man appeared to be slumped over in a box truck that was parked on the shoulder of the Outer Loop of Interstate 495, near the I-95 north split.

Troopers found the man slumped over between the seats in the cab of the box truck.

There were no immediately obvious signs of trauma and no evidence of foul play, said police, adding that the vehicle did not appear to have been involved in a traffic accident.

Police on Wednesday afternoon were withholding identification of the man pending notification of his family. They said he was an adult male whom they think lived out of state.

Police said the man’s body would be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
