Cyrus supports gay marriage with new finger tattoo
When it comes to tattoos, pop star Miley Cyrus “can’t be tamed.”
The 18-year-old singing sensation posted a photo Friday of her latest finger tattoo, an equal sign.
“All LOVE is equal,” the Southern songstress tweeted alongside the Twitter photo, showcasing her long-standing support for gay marriage. Miss Cyrus quickly defended her views when a dissenting Twitter user questioned the “Party in the U.S.A.” singer’s knowledge of the Bible.
“Look up Leviticus, 1 Corinthians. Read both chapters and tell me where God says homosexuality, incest, and polygamy is ok?” the Twitter user wrote.
Miss Cyrus tweeted back, “Where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right. It doesn’t. GOD is the only judge honey. ’GOD is love.’ “
This isn’t Miss Cyrus’ first tattoo, as the “Last Song” actress reportedly flaunted a “Just Breathe” rib cage tattoo in 2009 as a tribute to a friend who died of cystic fibrosis. Earlier this year, Miss Cyrus reportedly had a dream catcher inked onto her torso. The “Hannah Montana” star also has the word “love” tattooed on her ear and a heart and a small cross on her fingers.
Shaq turned away at White House gate
Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal isn’t as tough as he looks.
The 7-foot-tall former NBA star attempted to enter the White House during his visit to the District on Friday, but apparently was turned away by security guards.
Shaq, who chronicled his D.C. excursions via Twitter and the Tout video program, donned a tank top and yellow cap during his attempt to see President Obama. Speaking to the camera, Shaq said, “I need your help. I’m in Washington, D.C. Do you think I can stand in front of the White House and get into the White House and see Obama? Or do you think I will be denied?”
After being rejected, Shaq expressed disappointment in another video: “Here I am. The White House is behind me. I’m trying to see Obama. … I just went to see the people over there and they said, ’Shaq, we’re sorry we can’t let you in, brother.’ Guess I’ll have to see you next time, Obama. I still love you, sir.”
Shaq could meet the president during a future D.C. trip, but the four-time NBA champion was visibly crushed about the letdown.
“I’m sad I can’t see President Obama. … Whyyyyy?! Obama!” Shaq said in a video from his car, whimpering along to Rihanna’s song “Unfaithful.”
Shaq may not have gotten into the White House, but he’s still loved at Italian eatery Buca di Beppo. He tweeted Friday, “couldnt get in da white house club but im still VIP in da @bucadibeppo eclub. love me sum #shaqhetti.”
Schwarzenegger museum opens in Austrian village
A museum devoted to actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger opened this weekend in Austria, the Austrian Times reported.
The museum, in Mr. Schwarzenegger’s childhood home in the village of Thal, focuses on three stages of Mr. Schwarzenegger’s life, with sections dedicated to his bodybuilding, his acting and his political career. Mr. Schwarzenegger did not attend the opening of the museum, which fell on his 64th birthday.
The “Governator” most recently made news with the revelation that he fathered a child with former housekeeper Mildred Baena, and his ensuing divorce from wife Maria Shriver. A month after the high-profile scandal, Ms. Shriver and Mr. Schwarzenegger reportedly were spotted over the weekend having lunch together for the “Terminator” star’s birthday.
