With torrential rain coming down and no break in the forecast, the Nationals postponed their 1:05 p.m. game Saturday afternoon and will play a traditional doubleheader on Sunday.

The first game will begin at 1:35 p.m. and the second will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.

The Nationals, who took game one of the series against the Milwaukee Brewers with a 10th inning walkoff victory Friday night, will keep their pitching rotation in line. Right-hander Jason Marquis will head to the mound in Game 1 against Milwaukee right-hander Yovani Gallardo and Game 2 will feature Livan Hernandez for the Nationals against right-hander Marco Estrada for the Brewers.

Tickets for Saturday’s game will be honored on Sunday but will need to be exchanged at the box office. Both exchanged tickets from Saturday and those for Sunday’s regularly scheduled 1:35 p.m. game will be good for both contests. Tickets from Saturday can also be exchanged for any remaining home game this season.

This is the first rainout of the season for the Nationals, who will wrap up their six-game homestand Sunday afternoon before heading out on the road for three games in St. Louis and three more in Pittsburgh.
