EVANSTON, ILL. (AP) - Notre Dame and Northwestern, who haven’t met in football since 1995, will play a home-and-home series beginning in 2014.
Northwestern will go to South Bend on Nov. 15, 2014, and the Fighting Irish will visit Ryan Field in 2018. That will be Notre Dame’s first trip to Evanston since 1976.
The two school have met 47 times, beginning in 1889, and Notre Dame holds a 37-8-2 lead. Northwestern captured the 1995 game in South Bend, 17-15, helping the Wildcats start a season that ended in the Rose Bowl.
Since the 1976 game, the schools have met only four times, with two of those games at Soldier Field in Chicago.
