NEW YORK (AP) - Ratings were mixed for the four top broadcast networks’ opening week: CBS and NBC saw a viewership increase while ABC and Fox saw a decrease.

The Nielsen Co. said Tuesday that CBS was the nation’s most popular network again. Its prime-time ratings were up 6 percent over last year’s season-opening week. The “Hawaii Five-0” remake was the most-watched new program on the air.

NBC was buoyed by an 8 percent increase in viewership from last year. Much of it was because Monday night’s show “The Event” far eclipsed last year’s viewership of “Heroes.”

ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” was the week’s most popular show, but the network was down 13 percent. The return of “Glee” helped Fox, but the network still had a 12 percent drop.
