_ Mark Ingram, Alabama, ran for 157 yards and scored on a 1-yard run with 3:18 left to lead the top-ranked Crimson Tide back from a 13-point second-half deficit and beat No. 10 Arkansas 24-20.
_ Owen Marecic, Stanford, scored on a run and interception return 13 seconds apart to lead the 16th-ranked Cardinal to a 37-14 win over Notre Dame for their first 4-0 start since 1986.
_ Collin Wagner, Penn State, tied a school record with five field goals to help the No. 23 Nittany Lions survive a scare and beat Temple 22-13.
_ Dane Sanzenbacher, Ohio State, tied two school records by catching four touchdown passes from Terrelle Pryor to help the No. 2 Buckeyes roll over Eastern Michigan 73-20.
_ Johnathan Franklin, UCLA, rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown to lead the Bruins to a 34-12 win over No. 7 Texas in Austin.

_ James White, Wisconsin, rushed for 145 yards and four scores to lead the No. 11 Badgers to a 70-3 steamrolling of Austin Peay.
_ Ricky Stanzi, Iowa, threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns to help the 18th-ranked Hawkeyes bounce back from last week’s disheartening loss at Arizona with a 45-0 trouncing of Ball State.
_ Russell Wilson, North Carolina State, passed for a career-high 368 yards and three touchdowns to help the Wolfpack beat Georgia Tech 45-28.
_ Landry Jones, Oklahoma, threw for 370 yards and two touchdowns, and the eighth-ranked Sooners withstood a late rally to beat Cincinnati 31-29.
_ D.J. Beshears, Kansas, scored three touchdowns, including a 96-yard kickoff return, in the first half to propel Kansas to a 42-16 victory over the New Mexico State.
SHOELACE INJURED
Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson was on his way to another big day when potential disaster hit.
The dynamic quarterback of the 21st-ranked Wolverines had 129 yards and two touchdowns on five carries in the first quarter against Bowling Green, but left the game after twisting his left knee at the end of a 47-yard run.
Luckily for Michigan, Robinson wasn’t injured seriously and said he probably could have come back, but the Wolverines didn’t need him on their way to a 65-21 win. “Shoelace” expects to play next week against Indiana.
LATE-ROLLING TIDE
Alabama was in trouble against No. 10 Arkansas. Then the Crimson Tide showed why they’re the defending national champions and the top-ranked team this season.
Shaking off a sluggish first half, Alabama rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to knock off the Razorbacks 24-20. Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram provided the decisive score, diving in from 1 yard with 3:18 left on his third straight carry.
BRUIN RUIN
UCLA did it to Texas again.
The unranked Bruins beat the No. 7 Longhorns 34-12 in Austin, 13 years after walloping Texas 66-3 their previous time in the same stadium.
UCLA again had Texas fans heading to the exits early by forcing four first-half turnovers and chewed up the clock in the second with its grinding ground game.
PENN STATE RALLIES
Trailing 13-6 to unheralded Temple after the first quarter, No. 23 Penn State relied on its defense to avoid what would have been a huge upset.
The Nittany Lions took advantage of an ankle injury by Bernard Pierce, who scored two TDs in the first quarter, to stymie the Owls’ offense in the second half and went up eight on Michael Zordich’s 2-yard late in the fourth quarter. Penn State ended up winning 22-13.
SACKING SEMINOLES
Florida State is producing quite a pass rush.
The Seminoles led the nation with 13 sacks after the first three games and added six more in a 31-0 win over Wake Forest, their first shutout in nearly two years.
STREAKS
Morgan State ended a streak of 13 touchdown-less quarters with 10:52 left in the second quarter against Howard on a 16-yard scoring pass from Donovan Dickerson to Chuka Okakpu. Morgan State won 20-3. … Army ended a seven-game losing streak against the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 35-21 win over Duke. … Stanford has won two in a row over Notre Dame for the first time in a series that dates to 1925. … Tennessee State ended an eight-game losing streak to Florida A&M with a 29-18 win in Atlanta. … Missouri’s Grant Ressel had an extra point doink off the right upright against Miami of Ohio, ending the school’s record of consecutive makes at 252. The streak dated to 2005 and spanned three kickers. … Nevada (4-0) is off to its best start since going 12-0 in 1991 after beating BYU 27-13.
HUSKER TROUBLES
Nebraska’s backups figured to get plenty of time against FCS South Dakota State. Instead, the sixth-ranked Cornhuskers had to overcome an uninspired performance to pull out a 17-3 win.
The Cornhuskers (4-0) are off to their best start since 2005, redshirt freshman Taylor Martinez had a rough day after three straight 100-yard rushing games. He fumbled his first snap, threw two interceptions, was wildly off the mark with other passes and was flagged for taunting. Martinez finished with 75 yards on 13 carries but was just 6 of 14 passing for 140 yards.
TROJANS FINALLY CLICK
After up and down in wins over Hawaii, Virginia and Minnesota, No. 20 Southern Cal finally put everything together against the Pac-10’s worst team.
The Trojans racked up 613 total yards and their defense intercepted Washington State quarterback Jeff Tuel three times in a 50-16 rout in Pullman. USC has beaten Washington State eight straight times and the Cougars have lost 12 straight to FBS opponents.
WILDCATS WIN AGAIN
Kansas State had to endure a 90-minute lightning delay and an unusually quiet day by Daniel Thomas to outlast Central Florida 17-13 and go to 4-0 for the first time since 2003.
Central Florida dominated early and held Thomas, the nation’s second-leading rusher to 76 yards on 22 carries. The Wildcats were good in their own end to stymie several Central Florida drives and pulled it out on Carson Coffman’s 7-yard touchdown run with 24 seconds left.
