MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Jonny Flynn has been cleared to start practicing with the team for the first time since having hip surgery in July.

Flynn participated on a limited basis on Tuesday. There is still no timetable for when he will first play in a game.

The Timberwolves start the regular season on Wednesday night against Sacramento. Veteran Luke Ridnour will start while Flynn works his way back.

Flynn averaged 13.5 points and 4.4 assists as a rookie, but injured his left hip in the second-to-last game of the season.
