MILWAUKEE (AP) - The Milwaukee Bucks have exercised the third-year option on Brandon Jennings’ rookie contract. The option for the 2011-12 season is worth about $2.5 million.

Jennings was selected 10th in last year’s NBA draft. He started all 82 games for the Bucks last year and finished third among rookies with 15.5 points, 5.7 assists and 1.3 steals. The Bucks finished 46-36 and made the postseason for the first time in four years, losing a seven-game series in the first-round to Atlanta.

The 21-year-old Jennings also had a 55-point game on Nov. 14, the highest point total by any player last season.
