BEREA, OHIO (AP) - Browns coach Eric Mangini says he will not commit to rookie Colt McCoy as his starting quarterback until he knows who is available after the bye week.

McCoy made his second straight start on Sunday as Cleveland stunned the New Orleans Saints 30-17, relying on trick plays and two interception returns for touchdowns by linebacker David Bowens. Mangini was impressed with McCoy’s poise and the way he managed the game.

McCoy vaulted into the starter’s role following injuries to Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace, who both sustained high ankle sprains.

Mangini will consult with team president Mike Holmgren before making any decision on his starter. He also said the main factor in making his decision will be on Cleveland’s next opponent and not for the long-term. Cleveland is off next Sunday before hosting New England on Nov. 7.
