SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - The 27-year-old daughter of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has suffered a concussion and fractured spine after taking a tumble from her horse during an upstate equestrian sporting tournament.

A publicist for Georgina Bloomberg said she would undergo an in-depth examination Monday. Kenneth Kraus said Bloomberg was competing Friday in the Gambler’s Choice competition at the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament when her “saddle unexpectedly came loose and slipped.” She was knocked unconscious by the fall.

Kraus said she was “resting comfortably” Sunday. The equestrian was ranked by Forbes magazine as among the most “intriguing billionaire heiresses.”

A spokesman for the mayor said Bloomberg is “very concerned, as any father would be.”

(This version CORRECTS that Kraus is Georgina Bloomberg’s publicist))
