ASHBURN, VA. (AP) - The Washington Redskins waived 39-year-old Joey Galloway on Saturday and signed receiver Terrence Austin from their practice squad.
Galloway was a starter when the season began, slid to the No. 3 wideout after a few games, then was benched recently after a poorly run route led to an interception.
He had 12 catches for 173 yards in his first season with the Redskins, his fifth NFL team since entering the league as a first-round draft choice in 1995. Galloway has 701 catches for 10,950 yards and 77 touchdowns in his career.
Austin was a seventh-round draft pick this year.
Washington (5-5) hosts Minnesota on Sunday.
