WASHINGTON (AP) — ’Tis now the season at the White House.

A day after celebrating Thanksgiving, the White House shifted into Christmas mode on Friday. Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha received the 18 1/2-foot Douglas fir that will become the official White House Christmas tree.

The tree was hauled through the White House gates by horse-drawn carriage and will go on display in the Blue Room.

The fir comes from the Lehighton, Pa., farm of Christopher Botek. It’s the second time that a tree from the Botek family farm has become the official White House Christmas tree. The first time was in 2006, during the George W. Bush years.
