NASHVILLE, TENN. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans say quarterback Vince Young has been told he didn’t need to attend a team meeting a day after storming out of the stadium.

The Titans issued a statement Tuesday saying the meeting was to talk “about Young’s situation and how the team would move forward.” The Titans say Young has been placed on injured reserve.

The statement also calls a report by The Tennessean “incorrect.” The Tennessean, citing unidentified sources, says Young was in the training room Monday when he was asked to leave the facility by the quarterbacks coach.

Young, who needs season-ending surgery on his right thumb, had a heated exchange with coach Jeff Fisher after Young tossed his pads into the stands following Sunday’s loss to Washington.
