ALLEN PARK, MICH. (AP) - Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford isn’t planning surgery on his injured right shoulder.
Stafford will miss his second straight game on Sunday at Dallas and seventh this season with a separated throwing shoulder. Shaun Hill will start in his place against the Cowboys in a matchup of 2-7 teams.
Stafford was evaluated Monday by sports Dr. James Andrews and he concurred with the team’s rehabilitation plan.
Stafford says he is determined to come back and play this season even if it’s the final game.
Lions running back Kevin Smith is scheduled to have thumb surgery Thursday and there’s no timetable for his return.
