Iraq and Iran could make dangerous allies

OPINION:

I thank The Washington Times for Lord David Alton’s Nov. 5 article “WikiLeaks boosts Iran influence in Iraq” (Commentary). Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s crimes against the people of Iraq, as well as his support from the terrorist regime in Iran, need to be highlighted.

It is time that the interests of the people of Iraq and, indeed, the wider world are taken into consideration before the Iranian regime sets up its own satellite state in Iraq and then in neighboring countries. The threat from the Iranian regime must be taken seriously by the West.
