MIAMI (AP) - Dolphins quarterbacks Chad Pennington and Chad Henne left Miami’s game Sunday against Tennessee with injuries.
Pennington’s season debut lasted only two plays before he departed with another injury to his troublesome right shoulder. He was hit while throwing an incompletion on the first play, completed a pass on the next play and then called timeout and left the game.
Henne hurt his left knee when hit as he threw an incompletion in the third quarter. After being treated by trainers, he slowly rose and walked off the field, and he later left through a tunnel.
Third-string quarterback Tyler Thigpen entered as Henne’s replacement and threw a touchdown pass to help Miami win 29-17.
After the game, coach Tony Sparano said Pennington and Henne were still being evaluated, and he was uncertain of their status. The Dolphins play again Thursday against Chicago.
