BIG MONEY: Google Inc.’s 23,300 employees will be getting 10 percent raises next year.

GOOD TIMES: It’s a sign of Google’s increased confidence of more prosperity ahead, after it saw revenue rise 23 percent to $21 billion through the first nine months of 2010.

RETENTION: It may also be a way to slow defections to up-and-coming Internet rivals. Facebook has become more aggressive about recruiting Google workers.
