Luis Suarez scored two goals as Uruguay beat South Korea 2-1 to advance to the round of eight.

Suarez scored first in the eighth minute on a long cross from Diego Forlan that skipped through South Korea’s back line. Suarez, unmarked, buried the pass into the left corner of the net.

South Korean midfielder Lee Chung-Yong tied the game at one with a header in the 68th minute. But Uruguay’s vaunted attack was too much for South Korea’s back line.

Suarez’s second goal came in the 80th minute on a shot taken just outside the eighteen that bended just inside the right goalpost to make the score 2-1, where it would remain until the final whistle was called.

With the win, Uruguay awaits the winner of U.S. versus Ghana, slated to kick off today at 2:30 p.m. in Rustenburg.
