The energy bill being put forth by Democrats is based on what are proved to be false premises - and therefore should be flatly rejected (“Senators optimistic on energy bill but sticking points remain,” Web, News, June 29).

If the bill were to become law, it would tax carbon emissions on everything and all energy users, but in particular on users of coal, petroleum, natural gas and gasoline. It would tax the average American over and over again because everything that uses energy would be hit by the carbon tax, and those higher costs would be passed on to consumers.

Carbon dioxide is not causing climate change. The climate of this planet is always changing, and it will continue to do so as the earth evolves. Changes in the climate are caused by powerful magnetic and thermal forces within, on and from outside the planet.

The High Court of Britain identified nine factual inaccuracies in Al Gore’s politically biased and misleading documentary. Two other documentaries have scientifically and conclusively refuted all of Mr. Gore’s assertions. How can a tax with such brutal economy-killing consequences be based completely on false information?
