In response to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs’ comment that the Democrats could lose the House of Representatives in November, New Jersey Democrat Bill Pascrell Jr. said, “We’re the ones who have been taking the tough votes” (“With a whine and whimper, a presidency splits a seam,” Pruden on Politics, Nation, Page 2, Friday). They’re only tough votes because the Democrats are legislating against the will of the American people.

Obamacare, financial regulatory reform and the “cap and trade” bill have been rejected by the American people, but that didn’t stop Democrats from cramming those measures down our throats. What Hill Democrats haven’t learned is that President Obama is out for President Obama. When Mr. Obama, like Jimmy Carter, gets voted out after one term, he’ll have his socialist agenda on the books - barring repeal - and those who did his bidding on Capitol Hill will be long gone.
