BALTIMORE | The Baltimore Orioles have activated Luke Scott from the 15-day disabled list and optioned reliever Frank Mata to Triple-A Norfolk. The moves were announced Monday. Scott was placed on the disabled list on July 1 because of a strained left hamstring. He is batting .274 with 12 homers and 30 RBIs. Scott has played in 66 games this season, alternating between left field, first base and designated hitter. Mata made his major league debut on May 26 and had a 7.79 ERA in 15 games. The right-hander allowed one run in his first seven appearances but yielded eight runs in his past four outings.
