Is it my imagination or do the WikiLeaks documents reveal President Obama is misleading us when it comes to his stance on Israeli-Palestinian negotiations?

How many times have we heard him insist that “progress” in the negotiations - i.e., more one-sided concessions by Israel - are necessary for gaining broader support in the Arab world for stopping Iran’s nuclear program? Now we learn that Saudi Arabia and other Persian Gulf regimes have long been in favor of a military strike on Iran to stop that program.

Mr. Obama’s claims about the centrality of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in solving the much bigger, more dangerous problem of a nuclear Iran are thus patent nonsense and no more than an empty excuse to force Israel into an ever-more dangerous posture vis-a-vis the enemies on its immediate borders.
