STANFORD, CALIF. (AP) - No. 1 Connecticut has cleared key reserve guard Lorin Dixon to play in its showdown at ninth-ranked Stanford.
Dixon took part in the Huskies’ shootaround earlier Thursday and was deemed healthy from a foot injury. She had been listed as doubtful by coach Geno Auriemma after getting hurt in Monday’s practice.
Dixon underwent an X-ray upon the team’s arrival at Stanford on Wednesday and it showed no serious damage and no break. The senior is averaging 3.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 20 minutes per game off the bench.
Thursday’s game is a rematch of last season’s NCAA championship game won by UConn, which has won 90 straight games since a loss to Stanford in the 2008 NCAA semifinals.
