COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) - LeBron James could score more than 100 points and Ohio Gov.-elect John Kasich (KAY’-sik) would still not sing his praises.

The incoming governor told reporters Friday he doesn’t care if James scores 120 points, “he didn’t get any favor with me.”

In his return to Cleveland, James amassed a season-high 38 points, leading the Miami Heat to an easy 118-90 blowout win over the Cavaliers on Thursday.

Kasich had taken some heat himself from Democrats in his gubernatorial campaign for saying he was not overly concerned about James leaving Cleveland. He had said he was “not singing in any chorus” to persuade the NBA superstar to stay in the state. He was referring to a music video in which Gov. Ted Strickland and Cleveland celebrities appeared, urging James not to leave.
