WASHINGTON (AP) — A store worker has been accused of stealing Washington Mayor-elect Vincent Gray’s credit card on Thanksgiving Day and using it to buy cigarettes and liquor.

Court documents show 22-year-old Tamika Garris was a CVS store cashier who rang up Gray’s purchases last Thursday.

Surveillance video shows Garris picking up Gray’s wallet after he left it behind on the store counter. Several hours later, she went to another employee’s register and used Gray’s credit card to buy cigarettes for $13.

Later, Garris went to a southeast Washington liquor store and forged the mayor-elect’s signature for $25 in liquor.

Garris was arrested Wednesday and charged with credit card fraud.

Gray spokeswoman Doxie McCoy confirms to The Washington Examiner that the wallet was stolen.
