FOXBOROUGH, MASS. (AP) - Deion Branch has Randy Moss’ old locker, starting spot and confidence from quarterback Tom Brady.

With all that, he didn’t come to the New England Patriots to be like Moss. He’s been better.

Branch said Wednesday that he’s not Moss and he just came to the Patriots to make plays and take advantage of the chances the coaches give him. Branch has 44 receptions in nine games since New England obtained him from Seattle six days after trading Moss to Minnesota on Oct. 6.

Moss has just 18 catches since then with the Vikings and Tennessee Titans. Last Sunday, Branch had eight receptions for a career-high 151 yards in a 36-7 win over the Chicago Bears.
