HARTFORD, CONN. (AP) - Connecticut Gov.-elect Dan Malloy has named a former state trooper who is senior director of security for the National Football League to head the state’s Department of Public Safety.
Malloy said Wednesday that former state police Maj. Reuben Bradford will make the department “sharp and glow.”
The 64-year-old Bradford will assume his new duties after the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl. He has worked for the NFL for 15 years and is responsible for ensuring games and venues across the country are safe.
He had worked for the state police for 22 years.
