ASHBURN, VA. (AP) - Washington Redskins safety LaRon Landry is done for the season with a left Achilles’ tendon injury.
Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that Landry will be placed on injured reserve.
Landry was touted as a possible league defensive MVP candidate early in the season when he was making tackles in bunches in the Redskins’ new defense, but the sore Achilles’ tendon left him unable to practice for several weeks and forced him to play through pain.
The tendon is in danger of rupturing if he continues to play, so Landry has sat out the last four games, spending most of the time in a walking boot.
