BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Bruins have traded forward Marco Sturm to the Los Angeles Kings for future considerations.

The trade is contingent on him passing a physical.

Sturm has spent the last six of his 14 seasons with the Bruins. He is the NHL’s leading German-born scorer.

Sturm injured his knee in Game 1 of the second-round playoff series against Philadelphia last year and began this season on injured reserve.

The 21st overall pick in the 1996 draft, Sturm was acquired by the Bruins in the trade that sent Joe Thornton to San Jose.

A deal that would send Sturm to the Kings was widely reported last week but denied by the Bruins.
