CLEVELAND (AP) - Browns defensive back Gerard Lawson has been arrested in Cleveland on charges that include driving under the influence.
Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County Sheriff’s spokesman John O’Brien says Lawson was taken into custody early Sunday after deputies saw him leaving an accident scene downtown. O’Brien says deputies caught up with him several blocks away.
No injuries were reported.
A court appearance was scheduled for Monday. Court records do not show an attorney for the player.
Browns general manager Tom Heckert says the team is trying to gather more information.
