WASHINGTON (AP) — A Washington emergency official says a few people were taken to the hospital for medical conditions and about 100 people were treated for various minor medical issues during two large rallies in Washington.
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Pete Piringer said the injuries Saturday ranged from bee stings to twisted ankles and dehydration. Six or seven people were transported to the hospital in serious condition for cardiac conditions.
Emergency officials were treating people who were at the National Mall for a rally being headlined by conservative commentator Glenn Beck and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. A second rally headlined by the Rev. Al Sharpton also marched to the area.
