SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Federal officials say a jetliner is being held on the tarmac at San Francisco International Airport because of an alleged phone threat.

The Transportation Security Administration says officials stopped American Airlines Flight 24, bound for New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, before takeoff Wednesday morning.

The TSA says passengers are being taken off the plane to be interviewed and rescreened.
