OPINION:
Simpler is always better, especially as it pertains to Fedzilla, whose mission is to complicate things to such a degree that ordinary Americans no longer understand how our government works or who it works for.
Keeping Americans baffled and confused allows Fedzilla to continue to gorge itself on gross inefficiency and run up a tab totaling trillions of dollars. Fedzilla is a punk and we the taxpayers the punkees.
We must simplify government whenever we can. The most grotesque example of something needing simplification is the U.S. tax code, which is the largest and most confusing book in the history of mankind. It totals roughly 50,000 pages and 8 million words. If anything about Fedzilla needs simplifying and has the overwhelming support of Americans, it is surely our classic, outrageous and unreasonable IRS tax code.
No one understands our tax code, including the IRS. Call 50 different IRS tax specialists with the same question and chances are you will get 50 different answers. Fedzillacrats have intentionally made it this way.
Not only does our tax code need to be clearer and easier to understand, it needs to be much more fair. Everyone, rich and poor, has skin in this game. It is unfair to expect or demand that 10 percent of the U.S. population pay 70 percent of the income taxes.
If you are a soulless bloodsucker and actually like Fedzilla in all its glowing inefficiency, then you ought to feed the beast with your tax dollars and not expect others to pay your fair share. If not, do America a favor and set sail for Cuba where you can join other commies on their commie colony of hopeless dependency.
This is why the more I read and hear about it, the more I like the fair tax. No tax plan is perfect and there is always room for improvement, but the fair tax plan is a huge step in the right direction.
The fair tax plan obliterates Fedzilla’s tax confusion game and wipes out the arbitrary and punitive IRS. Hiring tax accountants to complete the dizzying array of tax forms would be a thing of the past. Our 50,000-page tax code could be housed in the American History Museum at the Smithsonian Institution for future generations of Americans to marvel at the astonishing level of abuse and arrogance of the U.S. government way back in those days of insane corruption. I recommend it be placed in the section of the museum titled “American Dumb Things.” We could place all of Michael Moore’s movies and Al Gore’s Academy Award in that section of the museum, too.
The fair tax plan eliminates the income, payroll, corporate, estate, capital gains and all other hidden taxes and replaces these onerous punishments by slapping a 23 percent tax on purchases of all new products or services. One stop tax shopping. The more you buy, the more taxes you pay. Simple and fair enough for me. How about it, GOP?
With the exception of a few RINOs, Republicans have voted down the line to oppose President Obama’s orgy of new debt-busting spending programs. This is good, as Obamanomics is strangling the economy and putting more Americans out of work.
Because of President Obama’s and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s love affair with socialism, the Republican Party is poised to take back the House and gain seats in the Senate this November. If the GOP does get some political power back, we must measure them by what they do and not by what they say.
Republicans supposedly stand for less government and lower taxes. The fair tax plan will accomplish both of these goals. Only time will tell whether the GOP really supports these goals and ordinary Americans or if they are just as lashed to K Street lobbyists and massive tax confusion as the Democrats.
Hard-working Americans are angry. They are finally awakening from their slumber of apathy and realize that Fedzilla not only doesn’t work but actually is working against them. They know that fundamental change in Washington is essential to get our economy moving again and putting Americans back to work. They know Obamanomics is anti-American. Bottom line: Americans don’t trust their government. The U.S. tax code is a shining example of this distrust.
The time is long past for tax reform. Americans deserve it and should demand it in 2010. The current beast known as the tax code that we have allowed the bumbling Fedzillacrats to create must be eliminated and replaced with a fair and simple-to-understand tax structure.
Fair and simple. That’s how our government is supposed to operate. A smart guy by the name of Abraham Lincoln once wrote about our government: of the people, for the people and by the people.
