OPINION:
In his letter to the editor published Wednesday (“Too little cash to remove costly illegals?”) Wilson Faris asks why President Obama has a problem reducing the illegal immigrant population. Simply put, the answer to Mr. Faris’ question is that rather than reducing the illegal immigrant population, Mr. Obama is actively seeking to increase it, especially its Hispanic segment.
To understand Mr. Obama, one need only recognize that virtually everything he does is politically motivated. It follows that Mr. Obama’s actions favoring illegal immigration arise from his desire to expand his political voting base because he thinks that, eventually, the illegal immigrants will be given amnesty and hence voting rights. It is as simple as that.
