STORRS, CONN. (AP) - University of Connecticut guard Caroline Doty has suffered another knee injury and will miss the entire season.

School officials said Thursday that Doty tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in late July. The junior will undergo surgery in the coming weeks.

Doty missed the second half of her freshman season after suffering a similar injury to the same knee. She also missed her senior season in high school after tearing the same ACL while playing soccer.

Doty started 38 of 39 games last season and averaged under 7 points for the undefeated Huskies. UConn won a second consecutive national championship, extending its winning streak to 78 straight games.

Doty will have two years of eligibility remaining.
