Get your taste of Hawaii for free at the U.S. Botanic Garden’s permanent exhibit on the state’s unique flora, which are found in such diverse settings as dryland forest and lava flows.
Although the 50th state constitutes less than 1 percent of the land mass of the U.S., it is home to more than 30 percent of the nation’s rare and endangered plant and animal species. So, get a glimpse while you can.
Other exhibits at the Botanic Garden include “The New Age of Chocolate,” which features information on everything from the health benefits of chocolate to sustainable growing practices, and “Flora: Growing Inspirations,” featuring sculptures inspired by plants.
